Johnny "John" Dale Baker, age 66, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.  He was born June 30, 1958 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Robert Lee Baker and Lenoris Mullins Baker.  John was a former coal miner and truck driver throughout his life.  He was a car enthusiast who always enjoyed his Corvette and Jeep rides.  In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.  However, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  John leaves behind his wife, Ruth Ann Baker; children, Johnny Baker, Brandi Ervin, Amy Baker, Cindy Daniels, and Wendy Baker; stepchildren, Phillip (Michelle) Thompson, and Isaac (Susan) Thompson, and 17 grandchildren, Victoria, Logan, Lily, Mason, Corey, James, Autumn, Kassidy, Kasey, David, Caleb, Gunnar, Braley, Madilyn, Macy, Bryce, and Emma.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bobby" Baker and Lenoris Baker, and both of his sisters, Phyllis Cantrell and Diana Ficek.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
