John Allen Downard, age 56, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020, at his home.  He was born September 22, 1964, son of the late Ronnie Downard and Betty Gotschall Gibbs.  John was a self-employed handyman who loved doing repair work on houses, painting, hunting ginseng, and spending time with his family.  He is survived by his children, Lisa Downard (Joshua Coleman) of Hamden, Michael Downard (Katie Clemmings) of McArthur and Hope Biller of Columbus; brother, Steve Downard (Sue) of Radcliff; as well as 8 grandchildren.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Tammie Smith.  In keeping with John's wishes, his body was cremated.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home n Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
