John W. Jenkins, Sr., age 60 of Wellston, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  He was born July 6, 1960 in Oak Hill, Ohio, to the late Jackie L. Jenkins and Elizabeth M. Long Jenkins.  John was a 1978 graduate of Wellston High School, as well as a graduate from Hocking Technical College, with certificates in HVAC and Lumber Grader.  He was a former employee of Merillat Industries and also worked as a coal miner.  John enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars.  He is survived by his children, Megan Jenkins Montgomery (Kevin), Drew Jenkins (Robin), Elizabeth Jenkins, John Jenkins II,  and Bree-Anna Jenkins; grandchildren, Makenna Teets, Hayden Jenkins, Eden Jenkins, Wesley Northern Jr. and Xavier Hefner; sister, Susan Allman (Stan);  brothers, Jackie Jenkins (Lora), Mark Jenkins and Jerry Jenkins; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Blake Andrew Jenkins.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 12 P.M., at the Wellston Church of God with Pastor Emerson Montgomery officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online Condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
