John Henry "Holler" Nelson, age 59, of Hamden, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 following a brief illness.  He was born July 28, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late William Allen Nelson and Wanetta Marie Riffle Nelson.  John was a self-employed business owner and operator.  He was a man of many talents as well as an outdoorsman who enjoyed 4-wheeling, fishing, mud running, and sitting around a bon fire with family and friends.  John is survived by his children, Angel Murphy (Brent), Lisa Gordon (Steve), Ranae Vickers, Kyle Matteson, Jonathon Nelson (Rachael), John "Duke" Nelson (Tristin), and Katie Marie Nelson; sisters, Judy Hale (Glen), Barbara Brown, and Brenda Prater (Bruce); special aunt, Mary Barnett; along with several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Sims; grandson, Dalton Blackstock; and brother-in-law, Joe Brown.  Calling hours will be Saturday, September 28th, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. with Rev.
