Karen Lynn McConnell, age 56, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023.  She was born on December 19, 1966 in Trenton, Michigan, daughter of the late Raymond and Geneva (Woods) McConnell of Riverview, Michigan.  Karen was a special girl who always remained young and brought joy to her family and friends.  She loved music, dancing, books, and her dolls.  Karen graduated from Madison School in Wyandotte, Michigan.  She was a member of Buckeye Community Services in Jackson, Ohio which became extended family to her.  The care and support their staff gave over the last several years enriched Karen's life immensely.  Karen's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Buckeye Community Services staff and the Jackson County Board of Developmental Disabilities staff for all they have done.  Karen is survived by her sisters Sheila Manuel, Eva McConnell, and Rita (Phil) Diederichs; brothers, Michael (Lynn) McConnell, Rick (Sue) McConnell, and Boyd (Kristen) McConnell.  She is also survived by her Uncle Doug (Margaret) Rice, as well as several nieces, and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews and cousins.  Also surviving are Karen's "old buddy", William Mooney, and care providers, Iva Leach and Tina Peoples.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Charles Manuel and Wayne Kemp, Jr., and two great-nieces, Emmalee Patton and Paislee Nickels.  Calling hours will be Saturday, April 22 ^nd , from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Harry Mullins officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
