Kathryn L. "Kathy" Owings, age 64, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at her home.  She was born December 1, 1959 in Heidelberg, Germany, daughter of the late Floyd Lonzo Yaple and Margaretha Lederer Yaple.  Kathy was a graduate of Vinton County High School and a veteran of the Unites States Air Force.  She was a former employee of the Vinton County Schools, where she worked in several positions, one being a bus aide.  Kathy had a lifelong love for horses and enjoyed training standard bred trotters and racing at county fairs.  She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in McArthur.  Kathy is survived by her husband of almost 37 years, Richard L. "Rick" Owings; daughters, Maria Coleman (Jimmy), Chessica Cheadle (Shelby), and Tresa Hale (Chad); son, Paul Remy; grandchildren, Hunter Morris (Matt), Gracee Pfeifer, Joey Pfeifer, Jailyn Conley, and Lane Cheadle; brother, Ben Yaple; sister, Evelyn Amerine (Lee); along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Yaple.  Calling hours will be Saturday, March 2nd, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Rev.
