Keigan L. Michael Mathews, age 23, of McArthur, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born May 14, 1999 in Chillicothe, Ohio.  Keigan was a 2017 graduate of Vinton County High School and was attending Hocking College majoring in Natural Resources Law Enforcement.  Keigan was an outdoorsman who enjoyed playing basketball, walking in the woods, and he had a love for animals like no other.  He was very musically talented and loved playing the guitar with his friends and his uncle, John.  Keigan was intelligent, along with being a headstrong, tough warrior.  He also gave very generously and was always helpful to others.  He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Ryan Stout; father, Michael Mathews; brother, Dylan Crisp; grandparents, Vern and Wilma Mathews and Linda Riling; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including special uncle, John Mathews.  Calling hours will be Saturday, September 10th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Wallis officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Ray.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
