Obituary

Kenneth R. "Kenny" McCoy, of McArthur, passed away one day shy of his 81st birthday on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his home.  He was born August 25, 1943 in Yorkville, Ohio, son of the late William McCoy and Emily Briggs McCoy Seamster, and was raised by his grandparents.  Kenny was a very proud veteran who served in the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4811 in Yorkville where he was a former officer and member of the honor guard.  Following 33 years of employment, Kenny retired from Lucent Technologies.  Kenny loved to be outdoors cutting and trimming grass.  He also enjoyed building and remodeling and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Kenny is survived by his wife, Geraldine M. "Jerri" Waulk McCoy; children, John McCoy (Ellie), Rebecca Justice (Doug), Regina Jacks, Rich Wires (Tammy) and Tina McClure (Shane); brothers and sisters, Manuel, Danny, Linda, Carol and Janell; along with 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and grandparents, Kenny was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Mike.  Calling hours will be Friday, August 30th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Richard Vititoe officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will be in the Hamden Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
