Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" Sorrell, age 62, of Vinton, passed away Friday morning, January 27, 2023, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born March 23, 1960 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Wilbur Stanley Sorrell and Mary Dot Camp Sorrell. Kenny was a 1979 graduate of Wellston High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center. He was a proud veteran, having served four years with the United States Marine Corp. Kenny was a former employee of Pillsbury and General Mills for several years. He was a very generous and spiritual man, who was a faithful member of, and enjoyed attending, Emmanuel House of Refuge. Kenny also loved being a carpenter and building his little "man cave", also known as home. He enjoyed fishing and watching Western shows on T.V. Kenny is survived by his brothers and sisters, Dale Glass, Wilbur Sorrell, Elsie Long, Laurie Ponn, John Sorrell and Mary Collins; step-children, Michelle Shuler, Virginia Oliver, Jessica Delaney and David Lucas; along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Elizabeth Glass, and brother, Bill Sorrell. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 31st, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service, with military honors, will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. with Pastor Will Gillem officiating. In keeping with Kenny's wishes, cremation will follow the service.
