Kimberly Lynn Thornton, age 62, of Wellston, passed away Monday morning, October 3, 2022, at her home.  She was born March 18, 1960 in Wellston, Ohio to Larry Gene Thornton and Ardis Marie Wright Thornton.  Kim attended Wellston High School with the class of 1978, and later received a medical assistant degree from Rio Grande College.  Kim was a home health aide who loved taking care of people.  She was a former employee of Wise Medical Staffing and Home Care Network.  Kim was a faithful follower of Yahshua.  She had a big heart and with her spitfire personality she was always joking, making people laugh and never at a loss for words.  Kim was also a history buff, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Kim is survived by her father and step-mother, Larry and Janet Thornton; children, Shannon Schissler (Jeromy), Kris Carper (Laura), John Carper (Brittany), Steven Carper (Courtney) and Shelli Goheen (Roger); grandchildren, Katlynn, Jacob, Charlee, Garrett, Lauren, Braydon, Lillie, McKenlee, Hadlee, Knoxlee, Landon, Brantley, Addilyn, Samantha, Roger and Rhiann; siblings, Angie Adams, Jeremy Thornton, Jennifer Wojcik, Julie Opper, Jeanette Cox, Kenneth Thornton and Tracy Thornton; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her little buddy, Harley.  Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Ardis Thornton; grandson, Seth; and her fur baby, Buddy.  Calling hours will be Thursday, October 6th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.  Online condolences can be given to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
