Larry Kender "Bubby" Thompson, age 76, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.  He was born December 25, 1946 in Pike County, Kentucky, son of the late Dewey and Sarah King Thompson.  Larry was a Christian man who attended the Church of Christ.  He loved reading his Bible, loved his dogs, and loved the outdoors.  Larry is survived by his girlfriend, Kay Stephens; his sons, Larry Duane Thompson and David Gene Thompson; sisters, Carol Sue Gibson and Betty Lou Wilhite; special caregiver and brother-in-law, Glen Gibson; little helper, Miles Gibson; good friend, Dougie Spears; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael John Forgy; and brothers and sisters, Wilton Thompson, James Thompson, Andy Pratico, Cora Novac, Annie Sand and Phyllis Ann.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.  Calling hours will be Friday, June 2nd, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jason Kight officiating.  Burial will be in the Bell Cemetery in Allensville.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
