Leona R. Claar, age 73, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024.  She was born February 15, 1951 in London, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry Richard Sheets and Clara Catherine Haddox Sheets.  Leona was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed staying busy, attending church, visiting the nursing homes and spending time with her family.  She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Fellowship, the Red Hat Society, and the Wellston Senior Citizens.  Leona is survived by her husband, Paul E. Claar; children, Wendy Cline (Joe Cable), Brenda McCarter (Eric), and Scott Allen Kuhn; step-children, Paul Claar, Jr. (Teresa), Rick Claar, and Angie Claar; sisters, Wilma Cooper (Floyd) and Trenda Morgan; along with 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clarence Sheets, Viola Short, Wanda Kuhn, infant siblings, and a granddaughter.  Calling hours will be Monday, December 30th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
