September 14, 1933 – July 25, 2022
Robert "Leroy" Trace, age 88, of Wellston, went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife on Monday, July 25, 2022. He was born September 14, 1933 in Jackson, Ohio, son of the late William Roy Trace and Hattie Barlow Trace. Leroy married the love of his life, Eleanore, on May 4, 1962 and together they built a loving family. He served in the US Army and later was a heavy equipment operator for the Waterloo Coal Company, from which he retired. In his spare time, Leroy enjoyed fishing, hunting for mushrooms, carving walking sticks and most of all, he loved to mow grass. Leroy is survived by his children, Lee Ann (Jeff) Chandler of Oak Hill, Roger Dean (Benny) Trace of Jackson, and Mary Beth Trace of Wellston; grandchildren, Ben (Alex) Chandler, Christina (Aaron) Long, Emily (Jesse) Reynolds, Madison (Jeremy) Farmer, Levie (Brittany) Stewart and Hannah Stewart; great-grandchildren, Kieran Chandler and TayLynn "Kay" Stewart; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore Dillinger Trace; sisters, Betty Perry, Mary Ellen Buffington, Helen Griffith and Grace Ann Simpson. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 28 th , from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday, July 29 th at 11 a.m. with Rev.
