Lila R. Brown, age 93 of Hamden, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023.  She was born July 16, 1930 in Hamden, Ohio, the daughter of the late Bernard Paul Smith and Ida J. Funk Smith. Lila was a former employee of the Huston Nursing Home and was a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church. She is survived by grandchildren, Richard A. Weller (Penny) of Milan, Michigan, Wendy J. Derr (Keith), of Albany, Ohio, and Aaron Cotner of Wilmington, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Mullins (Ryan), Jordan Goodman, Joshua Weller, Daisy Cotner, and Scarlett Cotner; brother, William Smith (Michelle) of Galva, Illinois, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lila was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Brown in 1976; daughter Marialice Cotner (Don); sisters, Freda Dever, Pauline Smith, Helen Moritz, and Peggy June Dever; and brothers, Barney Smith and Duffy Smith.  Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 26th, at 12 p.m. at the Hamden Cemetery with Rev.
