Linda L. Carter, age 83, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at her home. She was born September 14, 1941 in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late Ralph William Parry and Mallie Ousley Parry. Linda retired from Lake Hope where she was employed for over 25 years. She was also a full-time wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed working outside in her yard and taking care of her grandchildren. Linda is survived by her daughters, Kathy Gray (Jim) of Oak Hill, Cindy Wilt of Oak Hill, Becky Wilt of Columbus, Missi Coleman (Rick) of McArthur, and Barbi Brooks of McArthur; grandchildren, Rob Ponn (Hailey), Tiffany Ewing (Albert), Timmy Sowers (Leslie), Josh Gray (Kayla), Nathan Wilt, Travis Massie, Mallie Hanson, George Freeman, Rachel Day, and Bode Coleman (Ashley); 7 great-grandchildren including Blaze and Mavery Handson who were her sunshine; brother, Wardie Parry (Barbara); close sister-in-law, Linda D. Carter (Pud); and special nephew and his wife, Alan Stapleton (Mary Barnett). Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Carter in 2012; good friend and father of her daughters, Paul Wilt; sister, Sadie Barney; brothers-in-law, Garfield Stapleton and Ernest Barney; nephew, James Stapleton; and 1 great-granddaughter. Missi would like to thank Kim with Heartland Hospice for always being there, and Rosemary Fannin Crabtree for always making her mom's hair look good. She is thankful for Rick Coleman; Missi always knew that Ricky was her mom's favorite. Graveside service will be Thursday, November 21st, at 11 a.m. at Elk Cemetery in McArthur with Rev.
