Lorene Patton, age 87, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.  She was born October 21, 1935 in Hueysville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alonzo Patton and Daisy Myrtle Allen Patton.  Lorene graduated from Hamden High School with the class of 1953.  She retired from the Milton Banking Company, where she was a teller for 30 years.  Lorene always enjoyed taking care of her dogs, as well as collecting cookbooks, cooking and trying out new recipes.  She attended Puritan Free Will Baptist Church.  Lorene is survived by her nieces and nephews, Hal Patton, Dennis Kirkendall, Cathy Patton Gardner, Vicki Patton, Randy Kirkendall and Tracy Kirkendall, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Hermal Patton, Delmar Patton and Hearld Patton (Gladys); sister, Loretta Patton Kirkendall (Charles); niece, Romona Kirkendall Cochran; and nephew, Gary Patton.  In keeping with Lorene's wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Graveside service will be held Monday, January 9th at 11 a.m. at Elk Cemetery in McArthur with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.
