Lynne Thompson Darnell, age 62, of Wellston, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at her home. She was born November 11, 1963 in Newark, Ohio, daughter of the late Larry E. Potter and Barbara C. Brown Potter. Lynne graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1982 and received a nursing degree from the University of Rio Grande. She was a registered nurse at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe for 33 years. Lynne was a devoted nurse whose life was defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others. Through both her profession and her personal life, Lynne touched countless hearts with her kindness, warmth, and selflessness. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Darnell, with whom she shared 15 beautiful years of life. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and commitment, creating a home filled with warmth, support, laughter, and cherished memories. Above all else, Lynne was a deeply loving and devoted mother. She is survived by her six children: Elizabeth "Libby" Darnell, Evan Darnell, Bobbi Darnell, Savannah Darnell, Kaitlyn Thompson and Chris Thompson. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Cheyanne Crowder whom she welcomed wholeheartedly as family. Lynne is also survived by her loving brother Brad Potter and wife Belinda. She also leaves behind her faithful and beloved puppy, Cabanna, who was never far from her side and brought her great comfort and joy. Lynne was grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren, who filled her life with laughter, love, and immense happiness. Those who knew Lynne will remember her gentle heart, her strength through life's challenges, and her endless willingness to put others before herself. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she cared for as a nurse, the family she loved so deeply, and the memories that will be treasured forever. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Calling hours will be Friday, January 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Harry Sutcliffe officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
