Marguerite Lee "Maggie" Greene Kauffman, age 72, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born September 23, 1952 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, daughter of the late Howard E. Greene and Thelma Sue Wagner Greene.  Maggie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in specialized studies and social work.  She was an educator with the Wellston City Schools and was deeply admired and respected by everyone around her.  Maggie was an outdoors person who enjoyed nature and wildlife, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Jo Green (Antonio), and Jennifer Anne Kauffman; brother, Butch Greene, as well as 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon McGinnis.  In keeping with Maggie's wishes, organ and tissue donation and cremation followed her passing.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Maggie's memory be given to one of the following:  World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth St., NW, P.O.
