Obituary

Marilyn J. Brady-Copas, age 89, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  She was born September 9, 1934 in Washington Township, Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Swisher F. Starcher and Mary Catherine Allman Starcher.  Marilyn was a 1952 graduate of Wellston High School.  In earlier years, Marilyn was employed as a teacher's aide at Wellston High School and a secretary at McNally-Pittsburg Manufacturing in Wellston.  She later retired from the Columbia Gas Company where she was employed for several years.  Marilyn was a very talented and award-winning artist who enjoyed sharing her works of art with others.  In years past, she was an avid bowler, was a member of the Jackson County Amateur Radio Club, volunteered at My Brother's Place, and always loved spending time at the beach with her family.  Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Brenda Price (Jr.); grandchildren, Stephanie Brady-Harding (Eric), Bryan Hollingshead, and Angie Price; great-grandchildren, Jillian Faltus (Devan), A.J. Connelly, Adam Price (Taylor), and Jason Hadlock (Bea Colley); great-great-grandson, Silas Colley; sisters, Jane Downard and Cathi Blamer (Dane); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Copas; and her son, Jeff Brady.  Calling hours will be Monday, June 17th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  In keeping with Marilyn's request, cremation will follow the calling hours.  For those who wish, contributions in Marilyn's memory can be given to My Brother's Place, P.O.
