Mark Allen "Boo" Vickers, Sr., age 54, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home. He was born January 24, 1969 in Columbus, Ohio, son of Dellos B. Vickers and Carolyn S. Rodgers Bandy. Boo graduated from Vinton County High School with the class of 1987. He was a hard worker all his life; he belonged to Laborer's Union Local #83 in Portsmouth and was employed at Iron City Pipe & Supply. In his spare time, Boo enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9092 in Wellston, American Legion Post 371 in Wellston, Jackson County AmVets #84, and Elks Lodge #466 in Jackson. Boo is survived by his parents, Dellos Vickers and Carolyn Bandy; son, Mark "Boo J" Vickers, Jr. (Macenzie James); mother of his son, Angela Vickers; siblings, Cindy McManis (Bruce), Michael Strite, Wayne Vickers (Cindy), Bob Vickers (Carolyn), Trent Vickers, Greg Vickers, Christina Bado (Michael), Todd Vickers and Amy Vickers (Douglas Bozka); as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friend, Melinda Farley, and the best bosses ever, Rick Smith and Corky Meadows. Calling hours will be Monday, March 13th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. In keeping with Boo's request, cremation will follow the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to Southern Ohio Boxer Rescue, P.O. Box 844, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
