Marvin Cecil McLain, age 85, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. He was born March 4, 1938 in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Floyd E. McLain and Esther L. Nicholson McLain. Marvin was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the former owner and operator of McLain's Plumbing, as well as the maintenance man for Seaton Square in Wellston. Marvin was a simple man who enjoyed going to flea markets, rebuilding antiques, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda M. Napper McLain; daughter, Angela Israel; grandchildren, Chantel Holsinger, J.C. Black and Corey McLain (April); great-grandchildren, Baisley Barstow, Rigden Holsinger and Hunner Black; sister, Jean Mercer (Gary); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his son, Scott McLain in 2022; and sisters, Barb Kennedy, Pat Wilt and Helen Rice. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 23rd, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.
