Mary Ellen Clarkson, age 69, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.  She was born March 3, 1952 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Mary (Hayburn) Canter.  Mary Ellen was a loving homemaker and Christian woman who enjoyed working crossword puzzles and painting figurines.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Mary Ellen is survived by her 8 children, Melissa Clarkson, Dennis Clarkson, Michael Clarkson, Mary Wyatt, Kimberly Winsborough, Matthew Clarkson, Christina Shaffer and Patsy Honeycutt; siblings, Nancy Downard, Carolyn Greene and Wesley Canter; along with several grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 grandson and several brothers and sisters.  Calling hours will be Saturday, January 15th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  In keeping with Mary Ellen's wishes, cremation will follow the service.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
