Mary Ellen Taylor, age 80, of Jackson, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at her home.  She was born April 24, 1944 in Wilmont, Ohio to the late Fred William Frederick and Iva Mae Sampsel Frederick.  Mary graduated with the class of 1962 from Fairless High School in Stark County, Ohio.  She was the former owner and operator of Taylor Trucking, as well as a landlord for several years.  Mary attended My Father's House and in her spare time she enjoyed working outside in her flowers and taking care of her cats.  She is survived by her daughters, Freddie Lynn Scurlock and Barbara Ann Logan (Robbie); grandchildren, Roger Lee Scurlock II (Cally), Dusty Wayne Logan (Bethany) and Rachael Dawn Scurlock; great-grandchildren, Aiden Scurlock, and Chris, Caleb and Kohen Logan; sister, Audrey Jean Frederick; along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving grandfather, Fred U. Frederick; husbands, Gerald Taylor and Harry Richards, Jr.; son, Donovin Taylor; sister, Frieda Frederick; and brothers, James Frederick and Bruce Frederick.  Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 10th, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. with Pastor Rick Kincaid officiating.  Burial will be in the Curry Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
