Maxine Lane, age 94, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Edgewood Manor in Wellston.  She was born August 21, 1927 in Wilkesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Homer and Gladys (Stiffler) Hugg.  Maxine was a homemaker who always enjoyed sitting outside working puzzle books and tending to her garden.  She is survived by her daughters, Donise Klintworth (Lyman), Sue Johnson (John), Ramona Boyer, and Althea Thacker (Dale); along with 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and her dog companion, Charlie "Pup".  Besides her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lane; son, Michael Lane; grandson, Jason Blackburn; and sister, Nellie Hugg.  Funeral service will be Monday, February 28 ^th , at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Yankee Street Cemetery in Wilkesville.  Calling hours will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral service.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
