Melanie M. Stanley, age 58, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home.  She was born October 9, 1967 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Perry Edward Cardwell and Gladys Ann Lenegar Cardwell.  Melanie was valedictorian of the Wellston High School class of 1985.  She received both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from the University of Rio Grande.  Melanie was an educator who taught mathematics, as well as being a Math Intervention Specialist at River Valley High School for several years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her children showing horses and playing sports, crocheting, reading, gardening, and taking trips to the beach with her family.  Melanie was a member of Zion #3 Church in Wellston,  She is survived by her mother, Gladys Cardwell; husband of 32 years, Ivan Clifford Stanley, Jr.; children, Colin Frederick Stanley, Caleb Ivan Stanley (Bethany), Lillie Grace Stanley, and Timothy Mike Stanley; siblings, Fred Cardwell (Joann), Carol Cano (Jarvier), Rhonda Teeters (Allan), Gordon Cardwell, and Randy Cardwell, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Cardwell, and her brother, Curtis Cardwell.  Calling hours will be Saturday, January 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Landrum and Pastor Charles Phillips officiating.  Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
