Melissa Lynn Norman, age 59, of Wellston, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born June 10, 1964 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of Darrell Radford Horne and Margaret Ann Rhodes Deck. Melissa was a 1982 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a loving homemaker who cared for her family deeply. Melissa was always the "life of the party" and in her spare time, enjoyed playing bingo, watching Jeopardy on T.V., and was an avid movie buff. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Rhodes Deck; children, Olivia Norman and Andrew Joseph Norman; siblings, Leanna (Brett) Grey, Ronnie (Kathy) Horne, and Scott Allison Deck; along with several nieces and nephews. Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Radford Horne; stepfather, Edger Deck; grandparents, Millard and Magaret Rhodes; and mother-in-law, Mary E. Norman. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 25th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A celebration of life service will follow the calling hours at 8 p.m. with Pastor Dean Manning officiating. Cremation will follow the service and a private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
