Michael "Mike" Ousley, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 7, 1948 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Lawrence Ousley, Sr. and Anastasia Essman Ousley. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Wellston High School and a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He was a former employee of Paul Edwards Paving where he was an asphalt layer. Mike was an outdoorsman and avid hunter and enjoyed raising peacocks. He was a talented musician, especially with the guitar. Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Most of all, he cherished his loving wife, and together, they became inseparable over the years. Mike was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9092 in Wellston and the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda M. Edwards Ousley; children, Isreal Ousley, Rosalena Ousley, Katrina Perkins, and Melina Corbett; grandchildren, Riley, Ayden, Braxton, Bryson, Marley, Roman, Khloe, Braydon, Josh, Tosha, Samuel, Ashley, and Derrick; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Kim Ousley; brother-in-law, Russ Benson; along with several great-grandchildren and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Jr. Ousley (Mary), Tim Ousley (Aggie), Jim Ousley (Lisa), Jack Ousley (Jeanie), Don Ousley (Mary), Dave Ousley (Judy), Rita Miller (Ed), Helen Benson, Sharon Grimes (Dip), and Bob Ousley (Betty). Calling hours will be Thursday, August 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Josh Landrum officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
