Nicky Bowen, age 72, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home with his daughter, Nicole and grandson, Brandon by his side after battling a long fight with cancer.  Nicky was the son of Millard and Minnie (Ross) Bowen of Williamson, W.Va., where he was born and raised.  Nicky worked for N &W Railroad for over 20 years, and later in life moved to Ohio to be around his daughter and grandsons.  Nicky was a very caring and loving person and never met a stranger.  He loved being around his friends and family and telling stories of long ago.  Nicky loved his little dog Cosmo and loved to be outside walking him.  Nicky also loved holidays and dinners with family.  He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Bowen, and grandsons, Brandon Brown and Shane Messer; sister, Shirley Bowen; brother, Ricky Bowen; nephew, Ricky Bowen (Christy); along with numerous other nieces, nephews and friends, including special friends Joe and Barb, Skylar and Terri, Darrell, Mary and Pam and everyone at Senior Transportation, as well as his dog Cosmo and family dog, Winnie.  Nicky was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Minnie Bowen; daughter, Kimberly Messer; brothers, Donnie Bowen and Jackie Bowen; and sister, Nancy Bowen.  Nicky will be sadly missed by all that knew him.  In keeping with Nicky's wishes, his body was cremated, and a family gathering will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
