Nina Fay Stevens, age 90, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at her home. She was born June 15, 1935 in War Eagle, West Virginia, daughter of the late William and Hettie (Cline) May. Nina received a bachelor’s degree in education from Concord College in West Virginia and went on to be an educator and teacher for 35 years. She was a very generous lady who was constantly on the go and kept herself busy doing something. Nina was also very talented at making crafts and writing poetry and enjoyed sharing those talents with others. For many years, she was a resident of Alabama where she was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Boaz, Alabama. Nina is survived by her step-children, Trent Stevens (Debby), Susan Case (Jimmie), and Joe Stevens (Kimberly); grandchildren, Ty Stevens, Brock Stevens, Jennifer Case (Sheena), Kari Case, Suprina Case, Zack Means and Michael Case, along with 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Stevens and sisters, Doris and Joan. Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Cemetery in Hamden with her brother-in-law Steve Stevens officiating.
