Levi “Otis” Sowers, age 88, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 29, 1937, in Vinton County, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Sarah Shively Sowers. On January 18, 1958, Otis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna (Webb) Sowers, who preceded him in death on January 9, 2024. Otis enjoyed mowing and taking great pride in keeping his yard neat. He also loved taking backroad drives and sharing stories with family and friends. In their younger years, Otis and his wife were exceptional bowlers and made many wonderful memories together. He is survived by his children, Vicki Ousley of Wellston, Shirley Stewart of Jackson, and Mark Sowers (Tracey) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Amy Mullins, April Stewart, Jacenta Collins, Kristi Gibson (Frank), Timmy Sowers (Leslie), Brandi Searles (Brad), Cody Ray, and Haley Butts (Coen); his brother, Harry Sowers (Judy), as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Otis was preceded in death by his parents; his special father-in-law, Shelby Webb, who served as a loving father figure throughout his life; his mother-in-law, Berlie Webb; his granddaughter, Shelley Ousley Rowe; his great-granddaughter, Reghan Sowers; his brothers, Raymond, Eugene, Eldon, and Harold Sowers; and his sisters, Ruth Henderson (Paul) and Louise Thurston. In keeping with Otis’ requests, there will be no services and cremation followed his passing. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Otis’ memory be given to a favorite charity of one's choice.
