Obituary

Pam Settles Markham, age 71, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home.  She was born April 6, 1952 in Morehead City, North Carolina, daughter of the late Lowell Settles and Gloria E. Willis Settles.  Pam graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1970.  Following 30 years of employment, Pam retired from Buckeye Hills Career Center where she worked as an educational aide in the multi handicap unit.  Pam was a caring and supportive person who loved her family and friends.  While her sons were in school, Pam was very involved with PTO and the Wellston Band Boosters.  She was a member of the Wellston Senior Citizens and attended Grace Baptist Fellowship.  Pam was an avid bowler and enjoyed being a part of the Wellston Wrangler Line Dancers.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tolby D. Markham; sons, Tolby Neal Markham, and Eric Lane Markham, both of Wellston; brothers, Dan Settles (Cindy) of Austin, Texas, and Lowell Wayne Settles (Brenda) of Tampa, Florida; stepmother, Betty Settles of Circleville; along with 1 uncle and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  In keeping with Pam's wishes, cremation followed her passing.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on her birthday, Saturday, April 6th, at 12 p.m. at Grace Baptist Fellowship in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.  Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
