Patrick S. Hill, age 39, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022.  He was born February 17, 1983 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Albert L. Hill and Joan K. Welch Poeppelman.  Patrick was a graduate of Vinton County High School, as well as the Ohio University Police Academy and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.  He was a former deputy with both the Vinton County Sheriff's Department and Ross County Sheriff's Department, a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Lima, and a former police officer at the Ohio State House.  Patrick loved to make everyone smile and laugh, especially children.  He enjoyed being a magician and was always showing his magic and tricks to anyone who would watch.  Patrick enjoyed woodworking and metalworking and he loved to exercise.  Most of all, he enjoyed family time.  Patrick is survived by his mother and step-father, Joan and Richard Poeppelman; his wife, Heather D. Wilbur Hill; children, 12 year old twins, Lacey Dawn Hill and Wyatt Russell Hill; siblings, Russell Hill, Dawn Hargett and Lisa Wetmore; nephews, John, Shawn and Shane Hargett; great-nephew, Brayden Hargett; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Hill; brother, Leslie Hill; and grandparents, Arnold and Helen Hill and Russell and June Welch.  To help others have a better quality of life, Patrick was an eye and tissue donor.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation followed.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
