Peggy L. Rice

Peggy L. Rice, age 58, of Wellston, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born February 5, 1968 to Teddy Lee Craft and Irene I. Floyd Craft in Oak Hill, Ohio. Peggy was a 1986 graduate of Wellston High School. She worked at the Kuppenheimer Manufacturing Company (Pants Factory) until its closure, after which she was employed as a teller at the First National Bank of Wellston, the Vinton County Bank of McArthur and People’s Bank of Jackson. Peggy loved her family, adored her grandchildren and enjoyed attending OHillCo Days and the Apple Festival. She also looked forward to spending time in Pigeon Forge. Peggy was known in Wellston, Jackson, McArthur and beyond for her sweet, gentle personality and her warm smile. She is survived by her mother, Irene Craft; father, Ted Craft (Tina); husband of 35 years, Paul Rice; children, Shayla Rice and Shane Rice and grandchildren, Everleigh and Emmie. In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, cremation followed her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
