Obituary

Wayne Allen "Pete" Henry, age 69, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his home.  He was born August 29, 1956 in Wellston, Ohio, to William Dwayne "Wayne" Henry and Mary Marguerite "Margie" Whiting Henry.  Pete, as he was known by all, was a 1974 graduate of Wellston High School.  He was a former underground coal miner with Southern Ohio Coal Mine.  Pete liked being outdoors, going deer hunting, picking blackberries, which he turned into blackberry pies, and taking rides on country back roads.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 371 in Wellston.  Pete is survived by his mother and step-father, Margie and David Sprague; brother, Randy Henry; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friends, Claude Reed and Chuck King.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Henry, and his sister, Joyce Davis.  Calling hours will be Sunday, January 11, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
