Rachel Ann "Gillie" Gilliland, age 35, of Wellston, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024.  She was born September 28, 1988 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Richard Steven Gilliland and Martha Ann Meade Gilliland.  Rachel had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends and was always the life of the party.  Rachel also loved music.  She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, especially the guitar that she recently received as a gift from her friend Troy Young.  Rachel loved her children and her family and cherished the times spent with them.  She is survived by her parents, Richard "Dick" Gilliland (Robin) and Martha Burris (Rick); children, Ariah Jade Farleigh and Elijah James Salisbury; brother, Nathan Gilliland; step-brother and step-sisters, Jared Burris, Trista Denbow, Jessica Harris, and Lindsay Burns; grandparents, Joe and Carolyn Burris and Margie and Bill Annett; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Rachel was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chester and Fern Gilliland and Paul and Bonnie Meade.  Calling hours will be Friday, August 2nd, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, August 3rd, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Rachel's memory be given to Warriors 4 Christ, 84 East Mound Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640 or First Presbyterian Church of Wellston, 18 South Pennsylvania Avenue 45692.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
