Berlin Ray Worrix, age 82, of McArthur, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 22, 1943 in Pike County, Kentucky, son of the late Willie L. "Bill" Worrix and Nevolene Justice Worrix. Ray, a former sawmill operator for Henchcliff in Jackson, enjoyed mowing and working in his yard and going to flea markets. He was a member and past Worthy President of the Eagles #2279 in McArthur; past District Chairman of District #3 Eagles; charter member of the motorcycle association; past President of the Vinton County Water Company, and past President of the Ross County Poultry Club. Ray is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Speakman of Columbus; granddaughter, Jamie Rae Speakman; sister, Wanda Altier of Corning; sister-in-law, Gail Worrix of Hamden, as well as 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Stewart Worrix; son-in-law, Jim Speakman; brother, Donnie Worrix; brother-in-law, Louis Altier; parents-in-law, Burman and Jean Stewart and Frank and Virginia McClaskey; and his uncle and aunt, Julius and Elfie Worrix. In keeping with Ray's wishes, there will be no services and cremation followed his passing. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Elk Cemetery in McArthur.
