Raymond Lester Piper, age 86, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home. He was born July 12, 1938 in Jersey, Ohio, son of the late Russell Taft Piper and Mona Swick Piper. Following several years of employment, Raymond retired from AT&T. He was also a retired police officer who served the city of Johnstown, Ohio. Raymond was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in McArthur, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and crafting. He is survived by his wife, Christina Mae Lowe Piper; sons, Rusty Piper, Tim Piper, and Shawn Piper; brothers and sisters, Richard, Tom, Bill, Ed, Katie, and Sis; along with several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Linda, and brothers, Robert and Don. Calling hours will be Saturday, November 2nd, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside service will follow the calling hours at 2:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sour Run Road, Wellston, with Rev. Carl Radcliff officiating.
