Richard D. "Ricky" Owings, age 52, of McArthur, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his home with loved ones by his side.  He was born December 13, 1971 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Raymond A. Owings, Sr. and Karen S. Sowers Owings.  Ricky graduated from Vinton County High School with the class of 1991 and was a former employee of Kenworth in Chillicothe.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting guns, and riding his dirt bike.  Ricky was a hardworking and caring man who was very family oriented.  He was a friend to many, and once friendships were made, they were lifelong friends forever.  Ricky was a member of the Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur.  He is survived by his wife, Trudy L. Lambert Owings; children, Caitlyn Carper (T.J.), Sara Owings (Tyler Barnett), Abbey Owings (Heath Collins), and Bryer Owings; grandchildren, Carson, Nixon, and London Carper, and 1 grandchild on the way; siblings, Pam Jarvis (Earl), Butch Owings (Johnna), and Bryan Owings, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.  In keeping with Ricky's wishes, cremation will follow his passing and a celebration of his life will be held at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Ricky's name be given to the Vinton County Cancer Society, c/o Randy Yates, 410 McArthur Avenue, McArthur, Ohio 45651.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
