Robert R. "Rob" Fitch, age 59, of Wellston, passed away Friday evening, September 2, 2022, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  He was born October 19, 1962 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Ira E. Fitch and Norma Jean Collins Fitch.  Rob was a 1980 graduate of Wellston High School.  He was a longtime employee at Jerry's Do It Center in Wellston for over 33 years.  Rob was always "tinkering around" on about anything, and when his health permitted, he enjoyed going hunting and fishing.  He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Most of all, Rob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, spoiling them with treats, and cheering them on at every baseball game and soccer match.  He is survived by son, Rob Fitch of Wellston; daughter and son-in-law, Malorie and Josh Zickafoose of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Toby and Aria Zickafoose; brother, Bill Fitch of Wellston; and niece, Lauren "Beth" Fetherolf of Wellston.  Besides his parents, Rob was preceded in death by brother, Butch Fitch, and sister, Jean Ann Gilpin.  Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jon Welch officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
