Robert Edward "Ed" Lawhead, age 72, of Jackson, passed away February 18, 2026 at his residence while snowbirding in Dade City, Florida.  He was born February 15, 1954 in Athens, Ohio, son of the late Alvin S. Lawhead and Vera G. Sowers Lawhead.  Ed was a 1972 graduate of Vinton County High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Vietnam era.  Ed was a retired construction worker who enjoyed residing in Florida during the Winter months.  He loved cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals and was also an avid cornhole player who over the years had won several cornhole tournaments.  Ed was a member of the Amvets Post 84 in Jackson.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Adrian and Elizabeth Lawhead; grandchildren, Malina and AJ Lawhead; siblings, Pat Lemaster, Karen Remy, Sue Wickline and Tom Lawhead, along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by brother, Mike Lawhead, and sister, Jane Lawhead.  Calling hours will be Saturday, February 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will be in the Mt.
