Robert Joe "Bob" Newman, age 64, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his home.  He was born February 8, 1956 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Rowland G. Newman and Rowena F. South Newman.  Bob was a 1974 graduate of Vinton Count Consolidated High School.  He was a former nurses' aide for 10 years, and also a paramedic, who was employed by SEOEMS for 18 years.  Bob enjoyed gardening, he enjoyed life and he enjoyed making everyone laugh.  He is survived by his wife, Cinda D. Long Newman, whom he married on March 30, 1975; children, John David Newman of McArthur, Misty Ladawn Newman of Columbus and Cinda Faye Newman (Leroy May) of McArthur; grandchildren, Robert J. Newman, Jordan Josiah Nichols, and Leeann Nicole Nichols; sister, Patricia M. Orth of McArthur; as well as several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Anthony Long of Columbus.  Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Rowland Newman.  Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, with a funeral service following the calling hours at 7 p.m.  In keeping with Bob's request, cremation will follow the service.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
