Roger Dale Bartoe, age 76, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born August 21, 1949 at home in McArthur to the late William Wesley Bartoe and Wilma Jean England Bartoe. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired laborer and member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) in Columbus. Roger was a huge fan of all sports. He was an avid golfer, played softball, enjoyed rooting for the Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Blue Jackets and The Ohio State Buckeyes, and loved watching his own children and grandchildren play in their sports activities. Roger also enjoyed fishing and going camping for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge #2279 in McArthur and the VFW Post #5299 in McArthur and VFW Post #9092 in Wellston. Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Mae Bailey Bartoe; children, Roger Dale Bartoe, Jr. (Mandy) of McArthur, Wesley L. Yerian (Thomas) of Jackson and Shaun Mathew Bartoe (Cassie) of McArthur; grandchildren, Bailey Bartoe (Angela), Lacy O’Harra (Thomas), Mayson Bartoe (Desiree), Caleb Bartoe, Lydia Brtoe, Colin Hunter and Leilah Bartoe; great-grandchildren, Jaslyn Bartoe, Casey O’Harra and Bennett Bartoe; brothers, Larry Bartoe (Dora), Jack Bartoe (Judy) and Bill Bartoe (Pat); sister, Kathy Grigsby, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Bartoe, Sr. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A Celebration of Life service, with military honors, will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m.with Rev. Jerry Griffith officiating. In keeping with Roger’s request, cremation will follow the services.
