Ronnie Eugene "Dog" Walton, age 74, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He was born December 16, 1947 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Stanley Eugene Walton and Marjorie Louise Coyle Walton.  Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Wellston High School where he enjoyed playing varsity football for the Rockets.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam era.  Ronnie was kindhearted and would give the shirt off his back to anyone.  He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and he loved the Wellston Golden Rockets.  Ronnie was a former member of the D.A.V. Jackson County Chapter 45 and the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.  He is survived by his brothers, Tom Walton (Vicki) and John Walton, along with 3 nephews, 4 nieces and several cousins and friends.  Besides his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Michael Walton.  Funeral service will be Thursday, August 25th, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
