Obituary

Russell L. Manring, Sr., age 81, of Chillicothe, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at his home.  He was born August 10, 1940 in Byer, Ohio, son of the late Harry Charles Manring and Elsie Mae Hill Manring.  Russell was a 1958 graduate of Wellston High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army from which he retired following 20 years of service to his country.  Later he retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Jackson.  Russell always enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and he loved to whistle.  He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.  Russell is survived by his wife, Teresa A. Ratcliff Manring; children, Toni Rayburn (Augustus), Russell Manring, Jr. (Stephanie) Brian Manring (Rebecca), Kevin Manring (Andrea) and Christian Manring (Malcolm); siblings, Nancy Schell (Gunter), Harry Charles Manring, Jr. and Marilyn Boyles (Timothy); sister-in-law, Molly Manring; along with 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Daisy F. Manring; sister, Clara Jean Jones; and brother, Gary Dean Manring.  Calling hours will be Thursday, October 28th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Friday, October 29th, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor John Pelletier officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Byer Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
