Ruth E. Fannin, age 100, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio.  She was born January 18, 1923 in Findlay, Ohio, the daughter of the late David and Mary Hunter Carman.  Ruth attended The Ohio State School for the Blind for 17 years, from the age of 5 until she was 22.  She was a homemaker and attended the Free Will Baptist Church.  Ruth's sweet and caring personality was enjoyed by all.  She was very musically talented, and even the loss of her vision never kept her from doing what she loved, which was playing the piano and organ.  With her sense of touch, Ruth could recognize others by the touch of their neck, and from then on, they were never forgotten.  Ruth is survived by her children, Donna Foster of Wellston and Tom Fannin, and wife Cindy, of Wellston, as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Fannin in 1998; 3 brothers and 1 sister.  Calling hours will be Monday, February 20th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Don Kincaid officiating.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
