Ruth N. Littlejohn, age 98, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Edgewood Manor in Wellston.  She was born October 15, 1925 in Vinton County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Orland and Viota Swaney Benson.  Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Allensville High School.  She was a former employee of Hercules Trouser Co. and was also co-owner, along with her husband, Carmel, of Littlejohn's Shell Station in Wellston for 17 years.  Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston and enjoyed listening to books on CD and working crossword puzzles.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Frank Keck of Wellston; grandsons, Dan Keck (Melissa) of Lancaster and Philip Keck (Griff Milsap) of Columbia, Maryland; great grandchildren, Levi Keck, Logan Keck and Emma Keck; sister, Coral Ward of Missouri; brothers, Donald Benson of Londonderry and Leland Benson (Helen) of Wellston, along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carmel W. Littlejohn in 2016; sisters, Nelda Maxwell and Neva Ucker; and brothers, Myron Benson and Willard Benson.  In keeping with Ruth's request, cremation followed her passing.  Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth's memory can be given to the First Baptist Church, 102 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Wellston, Ohio 45692.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
