Ruth E. Spires, age 79, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Hamden, Ohio.  She was born February 28, 1944 in Orton, Ohio, daughter of the late Melvin B. Jayjohn and Dorothy J. Taylor Jayjohn.  Ruth was a 1961 graduate of Hamden High School.  She retired from Austin Powder, where she was employed for 36 years.  Ruth always enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, but most importantly, she loved spending time with the pride and joy of her life, her children and grandchildren.  Her unconditional love for them was always apparent.  Ruth gladly put their needs, along with others, before her own.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Ruth is survived by her children, Teresa Vanderpool (Mike), Cheryl Wright (Jeff) and Bucky Spires (Rondel); grandchildren, Duke Reed, Charlie Reed, TJ Shifflet, Amanda Shifflet, Jayden Spires, and Evan Spires; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. "Buck" Spires in 1992; brother, Charles Jayjohn; and sister, Ethel Sheets.  The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Ruth's nieces, Michelle Ziegler and Christina Ray, for helping take such good care of her; and Ruth's neighbors, Annette Tatman, Sarah "Sissy" Tatman, and Jettie Tatman, for always being there for her.  She loved you all so much.  Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 19th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Rev.
