Samuel D. Bishop, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home.  He was born November 28, 1944 in Gallup, Kentucky, son of the late Glenn Ray Bishop and Amelia Clay Bishop.  Sam was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served during the Vietnam War.  He was a former employee of Coll Auto Sales in Jackson, and in his spare time, he loved to go fishing.  Sam is survived by his wife, Rosemary A. Marshall Bishop; children, David Bishop, and Alison Taylor (James); grandchildren, David, Donovan, Ashley, and Allysa; a long with 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.  In keeping with Sam's request, cremation followed his passing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
