Sandra L. "Sandy" Mullins, age 75, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio, of complications from Covid-19. She was born August 25, 1944 in Wellston, Ohio to the late James P. Clark and Beatrice A. Rannells Clark. Sandy was a 1962 graduate of Wellston High School and a graduate of the Southernton Beauty Academy. She was a former employee of the Wellston City Schools, where she served as a substitute teacher's aide. Sandy was also a beloved babysitter for several children for many years. She was affectionately called "Gran" and "Aunt Sandy" by not only her own grandchildren and nieces and nephews, but by their friends and many of the children she took care of. Sandy had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others. Her witty personality was known by many. Sandy loved to talk and could strike up a conversation with anyone within earshot, whether she knew them or not. Her family meant the world to her and you could always find her attending and supporting her grandchildren's sporting events. Sandy loved her shopping trips with friends and family, and in years past, she enjoyed participating in the Wellston Rotary Minstrel Show and working the election polls. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston, the Altar and Rosary Society, and a former member of the Wellston Mothers Club. Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert R. Mullins; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rob Kemp of Wellston; grandchildren, Taylor, Ashleigh, Madison and Sydney Mullins, R.J. and Alyvia Kemp, and Brooklyn and Brenden Mullins; great-grandson, Carter Mullins; sister, Patty Massie of Wellston, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Robbie Mullins and David Mullins; siblings, Jack Clark (Irene), Marge Graham (Don), Ann McCoppin (Charlie), Mary Jane Pope (Sonny) and Jim Clark; and brother-in-law, Mike Massie. Public graveside service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 11 A.M. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Father Nic Ventura officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Sandy's name be given to The Big W Club, P.O. Box 489, Wellston, Ohio 45692. Due to the coronavirus and public health concerns, the Mullins family wants to do their part in keeping everyone safe and understands if you choose not to attend. For those who wish to be there in spirit, Sandy's graveside service will be live-streamed on the McWilliams Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 11 A.M. on Thursday.
