Sharon E. Current

Sharon Elaine Jewell Current, age 67, of Wellston, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2026. She was born December 6, 1958 to the late James David Jewell and Elizabeth L. Hunkerford Jewell in Albany, Ohio. Throughout her life, Sharon held many different professions, from bus driver, to teacher, to nurse; but her true joy was found in being a wife, mom, grandma and servant of the Lord. Sharon was fiercely dedicated to the Wellston Church Camp, especially the kitchen, where she could exercise her joy of cooking and caring for others. She loved to collect Bibles and distribute them as the opportunity arose. Sharon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellston. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Elvis Current; children, Isaac Current (Sharon Gawith) of Las Vegas, NV., Jonathan Current (Allison) of Jackson, Oh., and Jessica Billbe (Gavin) of Wellston; granddaughter raised as a daughter, Erika Rossman; eight grandchildren; sister, Cindy Sue Taylor, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sisters Linda Kay Jewell and Jenny Lynn Jewell. In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation followed her passing. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family with interment to follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston.
